Ah that good anxiety, always there to follow us.

And yet we'd love to be let off the hook, because it's suffocating us.

You always have to be hyper-vigilant to everything. Fear of missing out, fear of failing, fear of dying, fear of succeeding, fear of everything in fact.

And all this makes us feel weak, worthless, spineless. We wonder what's wrong with us, as if there were something wrong with our engine. As if we had something broken that needed fixing.

The video on how to survive anxiety

Anxiety is part of who we are

But in fact, nothing is broken, because our anxiety is part of us. At the same time, it gives us the energy to move forward.

Anxiety is a natural phenomenon provoked by our subconscious in the face of real or imaginary fear, to enable us to survive it.

And to ensure this survival, our brain gives us the maximum chance by putting us into overheating mode.

  • Hyper vigilance to see danger coming faster
  • Increase heart rate to boost muscle power
  • Rapid breathing to over-oxygenate the body for faster reactions
  • Stress hormone for rapid decision-making
  • Nightmares when we sleep to train ourselves
  • And the list goes on

Anxiety turns us into superheroes

In fact, this anxiety puts us in superhero mode, boosting our abilities tenfold. But this comes at a cost: fatigue and mental overheating. But that's normal, because after all, being a hero all the time is tiring.

So, to survive, perhaps we should no longer try to erase this anxiety, but accept it and learn to use this superpower when we need it. Like a superhero.
